A solution to upgrade your outdated Outlook email files

In 2007 Microsoft updated its popular email client Outlook to a new version. Prior to this time Microsoft Outlook was beset with many problems. And the least of this was a two GB size limit for the storage of data. The new version increase the allowance of room in the Outlook database to 20 GB. In previous versions this PST file database also stored information in ANSI code. For 2007 Microsoft Outlook data is stored in unicode.

When upgrading from the 2003 or earlier versions of Microsoft Outlook to the newer version users would have to leave the old application intact for archiving or move the files into a storage folder within their upgraded version. This process is known as Outlook migration and can only be done by using the tool specifically designed for this purpose. One can also use these tools for Email backup as they allow one to move all archive messages to safe separate folder locations. While Email recovery of lost or corrupted messages on Microsoft Outlook is possible with many programs, as with any situation when dealing with damaged or corrupted files it is always far simpler to rely on folder backups for restoration of lost messages.
